The Second Death of Caspar HelendaleAnyone who has spent any amount of time in Second Life can relate to the sense of loss felt when one of your inworld friends disappears. Your IMs go unanswered, your gifts go unaccepted, your group notices go unread. They're just gone. The loss and grief is no less real than when a real life friendship disintegrates. How do you deal with the loss? How do you mourn?
These are the very types of questions addressed by The Second Death of Caspar Helendale, a very creative project recently selected by the Royal Opera House to be performed simultaneously in Second Life and in real life as part of their innovative Firsts 09 season later this week (Friday and Saturday).
